Summer is Almost Here

Articles

Behold the summer issue, eighteen days before summer actually arrives. On launch day we have seven new book reviews, including the incomparable Alison Gillmor on the book published by the Winnipeg Art Gallery to document their ambitious new exhibit, more (fictional?) tweets by Nathan Dueck, an essay excerpted from Jane Silcott’s new book (plus a review of same by Jess Woolford), an interview with novelist Ali Bryan, and columns by Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch, Jeff Bursey, and Lori Cayer.

Enjoy it all and come back every week for more book reviews, more columns, the winner of our fiction contest, and find out what Winnipeg writers are reading this summer. Remember you can subscribe on the bottom of the home page to be notified of new content and even individual contributors.

The Winnipeg Review aims to be the place on the Interweb for reviews of Canadian fiction, fabulous poems, columns, and occasional satire and fiction. We take pride in being both wrong and right, sometimes in the same piece. Please keep telling us what you think in the comments field for each post.

Update as of June 12: Edmonton’s Su Croll has won the TWR short fiction contest with her story “Dead Martin Club,” which you can read here. Congratulations, Su! We were tempted to keep those Roald Dahl stamps for the office….
